Think before you ink
Semi permanent cosmetics are increasing in popularity by the week and that is a fantastic thing however, it can also lead to people making rash decisions and regretting it. Groupon offers and people untrained in genuine Semi permanent makeup are tarnishing it’s reputation and leading to reputable technicians having to correct this work… I must get at least one message per day from someone who has had a disaster treatment or needs correctional work due to work done by another technician. You really do get what you pay for!
I am working through the advanced Elite course at the highly renowned Dermace Academy. This is not a quick one day course; it is intense, lengthy, thorough and always has health and safety at the forefront. Dermace Academy is HABIA, BABTAC and Guild of Beauty Therapists accredited, meaning it’s recognised worldwide by the industry and insurance providers.
As a technician, I was prepared to spend thousands of pounds (Over 12k to be exact) on legitimate, recognised training, supplies, equipment, insurance and my premises in order to be fully compliant and professional. One day courses are not legitimate, you cannot expect to be trained in an advanced technique like this for a few hundred pounds. Those who have done this will more than likely use the cheapest materials and cut corners; resulting in unhappy clients.
The pigments I use are EU regulated, safe, tested and made especially for the face. There are colours for every skin tone and hair colour, meaning the brows won’t fade to an unsightly orange or blue colour like permanent tattoos can. The machine I use is specifically made to tattoo the face, it is gentle and does not cause severe discomfort, unlike a conventional tattoo machine. Semi permanent makeup fades over time which is exactly what they should do.
As your face changes throughout the years and loses elasticity, this means your procedures can be tailored to those changes and always suit those changes. With a permanent tattoo, using inks and not pigments, it is there forever and will move with those changes in the face, becoming unsightly over time as it won’t remain in the right place.
